Get Rid of the Rona Blues

By now, many of you reading this are running out of things to do during this Corona lock down. You might find yourself napping, flipping the channels, and/or visiting the kitchen more than you care to share.

Never Fear! Cocoa is Here!!

I’ve created a list of a few things to help you get through these lock down days feeling a little better.

Plan a complete vacation.

I’m not talking about a, “I want to go to Vegas,” vacation.

I’m talking about planning the whole thing. Where do you want to eat when you get to your destination? How will you get around? Who will go with you? How much money will you need? Are you going to alone? Where will you stay? Plan it and let’s talk!  In the meantime, why not go on some virtual tours to get a taste of what’s out there?

Dance like no one is watching.

Or, like someone is watching. Whatever fits your fancy. Do it. Not only does dancing feel good, it is good! Dancing is a “Do you,” kind of thing. Want to just break out and do a church dance? Go head! Want to show your kids some of your old moves? Well, go head, but go head with caution. Just turn on Pandora, or whatever you’d like, and have some sweat it out fun!

Learn the beautiful art of not giving a damn.

For some of us, this is a hard one, but is so freeing once you learn to do it. It doesn’t matter what you do, or how you do it, someone is going to find fault with it. With that knowledge, live your life your way. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Try it. I guarantee you’ll like it.

Clean out your closet.

Yeah, I know. I ventured into dangerous territory with this one, but think about it. You know you’re thinking about all of the clothes you’re going to buy when this is over (some of you have been online shopping already to relieve some of this cabin fever). Go ahead and make room in your closet by getting rid of those things you know you’re not going to wear anymore. Besides there are going to be people who need the donations you to make to Goodwill or the local shelters.

Count your blessings.

Now, more than ever, it’s absolutely important that you remember your blessings. We’re inundated daily with the dismal numbers of what’s going on with this virus and the ugly politics of it all. If you’re like me, you don’t need a minute by minute, play by play of what’s going on. Instead of focusing on all the bad, focus on your blessings. I’ll give you the first two.

  1. You lived another day.
  2. He is still in control even when things seem and feel crazy.
